Subject: Award Winners - Public Perception of Polymers

The Industrial Sponsors Group of the ACS Division of Polymer Chemistry has announced the 1996 awardees in its program to improve the public's perception of polymers.  A grant of $10,000, to be paid over a three year period, has been made to Dr. Richard Stein of the University of Massachusetts and Ms. Valerie Wilcox of the National Plastics Center and Museum in Leominster, Massachusetts.

The grant is for the purpose of the development and production of a series of videotapes to further the understanding of polymers in modern society.

This is the fifth annual grant awarded by the Industrial Sponsors Group, which consists of nearly 40 companies which support the educational and public outreach activities of the Division of Polymer Chemistry.
