Topics of Interest (Other Related Topics will be Considered) are: materials used for sensing, collecting, concentrating, detecting and decontaminating chemical weapons, biological weapons, nuclear related chemicals, toxic industrial chemicals, bio-toxins, and other materials that might be related to terrorism or homeland defense; examples of these types of methods or materials include surfactant or phospholipid based decontamination, environmentally green decontamination, molecularly imprinted materials, sol-gels and related materials, modified porous silicon, modified metal surfaces such as gold, nano-structured oxides; applications of these materials to sensing and detecting systems such as SAW detectors and mass spectrometers; molecular recognition materials.

One poster session and 4 oral sessions are planned. Oral sessions include: Chemical and biological agent detection, materials for decontamination and protection, and biological decontamination. Deadline for Abstracts April 25, 2005. Both a standard ACS abstract and Polymer Preprint are required for all papers. Abstracts should be submitted through OASys, the ACS online abstract submittal system, available at the ACS meetings page (http://www.acs.org). Upon abstract submission, a record number will be assigned, which must be used to submit a preprint (this ensures that abstract and preprint are linked).
